Results of My Legal Work
The client received a Strafbefehl (penal order, a written sentence imposed without trial) of 110 Tagessätze (day-fine units)… for resisting law enforcement officers, which could have had significant consequences for his residence status. Following my arguments and discussions with the public prosecutor’s office, the proceedings were discontinued subject to a monetary payment. The client remains without a criminal record.
The client was given notice of termination by a large tech company. However, the termination… had clearly been justified inadequately. In addition, I was aware of a covert relocation of jobs abroad. Following discussions with opposing counsel, the client was paid a generous severance payment.
The client was a well-known former national football player. He objected to statements, that had been published… in an RTL broadcast. Following the application for an interim injunction that I drafted, the court prohibited RTL from further disseminating the statements.
The client received a Strafbefehl for the acquisition of narcotics. The clearly excessive sentence was reduced to …less than a third following my Einspruch (objection, a formal challenge against a Strafbefehl). Even after covering the costs of the proceedings, the client saved money overall.
As part of mass litigation proceedings against Meta/Facebook and Schufa, some of which I directed,… data protection violations were asserted. The Bundesgerichtshof (BGH, Federal Court of Justice) ruled in favour of the position of the thousands of claimants represented on key points, thereby strengthening data protection at the individual level.
In numerous proceedings against online coaching providers that I helped develop and conduct, claimants were awarded…damages and reimbursement claims. The BGH almost fully confirmed the legal positions developed, in particular regarding the scope of the FernUSG (Fernunterrichtsschutzgesetz, the German Distance Learning Protection Act), thereby putting a stop to the artificial narrowing of the law applied by some courts.
A client I represented was charged by the public prosecutor’s office with a hit-and-run offence because… he had touched another vehicle while parking. He was also accused of further offences. The considerable inconsistencies in the evidence and the evident insignificance of the matter ultimately led to the proceedings being discontinued at the hearing.
